Taking care of the environment was always one of Daniela’s core values. Making eco-friendly accessories started as a hobby but after giving birth to her daughter, Daniela decided to get even more involved in creating a better future for our generation and future ones.

„Being on maternity leave, I wished to identify new activities and create nice things. I started making eco-friendly macrame bags. Although eco bags appeared on the market several decades ago, I analyzed the ways to create unique models, with a modern design. Their big advantage is that they can be used not only for shopping, but also for going to the beach, for picnics or for a walk with children. The most important is that all the bags I create are reusable. I believe it is essential for us to make sure that our businesses are sustainable.” – Daniela says.

The young entrepreneur believes that the care for the environment starts in family, and all of us can contribute to creating a sustainable future via simple but essential actions. „It is very important for us to give examples to our children, as they adopt everything they see in their families. I was taught to take care of the environment I live in and now I would like to cultivate this value in my own family.” – Daniela added.

In order to develop her business, she have participated in the pre-accelerator programme for women and girls, implemented by UN Women, in partnership with XY Partners, with financial support from Sweden. Thanks to this programme, she managed to gain necessary knowledge but also to learn more about moldovan marketplace.

„Thanks to the pre-accelerator, I have learned more about first steps to be taken to make my small business grow. I noticed an interest towards my products, and it was very encouraging for me. I am deeply grateful to the mentors of the programme but also to the organizers and partners. They do their job with professionalism and dedication.” –Daniela states

The young entrepreneur believes that there is a great potential for developing women’s entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova, and the support offered by family plays an essential role for women who decide to launch a business.

„Over the last years, many women’s empowerment programmes have been launched in the Republic of Moldova. This means that things start changing.” – the entrepreneur says.

Finally, Daniela encourages all women and girls to create their future: „We only live once, and if we don’t follow our dreams, we have only regrets and remorses, and it reflects negatively on all aspects of life. The most important is to believe that we can do everything we want, and we will definitely succeed”.
