50/50 Women’s Political Club consolidates its efforts in Moldova

Women local leaders from 15 districts of Moldova - Anenii Noi, Briceni, Cahul, Cimișlia, Criuleni, Edineț, Hâncești, Orhei, Soroca, Strășeni, Ștefan Vodă, Telenești, Ungheni, Vulcănești and Bălți came together on June 16, 2018 at the launching event of the project "Balanced Participation in Decision-Making". It aims to promote gender equality and de facto realization of women's rights and participation in politics and decision-making at all levels.

The main goal of the 50/50 Women's Political Club community for the next two years is to increase women’s motivation and capacities and prepare candidates for national and local elections.

Training for trainers, training for active women, seminars with women from under-represented groups, enhancing their knowledge as voters, national advocacy campaigns to support women’s advancement in the government are some of the specific tasks to be undertaken by the community of women leaders from 15 districts of the country.

The project is part of the Project Cooperation Agreement between UN Women and Gender-Center, funded by the Government of Sweden.
