On March 21, 2018, the Government of the Republic of Moldova approved the National Programme to implement the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security for 2018-2021 and the National Action Plan regarding the implementation of the programme.

“The Action Plan recognizes the key role women play in building peace and ensuring security, and proposes concrete actions to address barriers identified which reduce the representation and influence of women in the security sector. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the key government institutions, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Bureau for Reintegration, and others as well as civil society organizations to ensure implementation of the Plan”, stated Asya Varbanova, acting head of UN Women Moldova.
