The refugees finding peace and humanity in Cahul and Ungheni

200 refugee families have received personal hygiene items in placement centres in Cahul and Ungheni districts through the EU-funded EVA project aiming to promote gender equality in Cahul and Ungheni districts, in partnership with UNICEF. UN Women is working to ensure that humanitarian efforts consider the differentiated impact of the war on women and men, including those from the most vulnerable groups.

The apiaries belonging to Liza Mămăliga from Todirești village, Ungheni, and to Cristina Bacaliuc, from Andrușul de Jos village, Cahul, are part of the 8% of the 7,696 apiaries in #MD. They managed to break the stereotypes in beekeeping.

300 young people learned gender equality through graffiti and street art in Cahul and Ungheni, Republic of Moldova. As a result, 18 murals were painted to promote gender equality and raise awareness of gender-based violence.This activity is part of EVA project "Strengthened gender equality in Cahul and Ungheni districts", funded by European Union and implemented by UN Women in partnership with UNICEF.
