GirlsGoIT partners

To empower women and girls in ICT, and as part of our GirlsGoIT initiative we partnered with local ICT companies who wanted to contribute. Endava, FFW Agency, Moldcell, and Mixbox supported the GirlsGoIT summer camp 2017, where 65 girls ages 16-20 learned web development, robotics, 3D printing, and other fields.

FFW Agency is an active supporter of GirlsGoIT and women in ICT field and have offered internship positions for two GirlsGoIT participants. Moreover, they advocated for women in ICT at the Moldova ICT Summit. DAS solutions has also offered internships for two girls to support their future careers in technology field.

As part of the GirlsGoIT initiative we have engaged the private sector, as well as government agencies, international organizations, civil society representatives, and GirlsGoIT participants to jointly develop the 4E Strategy to empower women in and through ICT, focusing on four strands related to Education, Entrepreneurship, Employment and Equality.

Women empowerment principles

In partnership with ODIMM (Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development) we are working on mainstreaming Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) to ensure that gender equality and women human rights are respected at workplace and in private sector overall. Respecting the Women Empowerment Principles will ensure women’s full participation in all sectors and activity levels for stronger economies, more equal and just societies, better lives for men, women, and communities. We promoted Women Empowerment Principles among companies in Moldova and created conversations around gender equality. As a result, over 250 Moldovan companies from different fields have committed to adopt the Women Empowerment Principles. Globally over 7000 companies have committed to respect these principles.
