UN Women joins the “Fii pe val. Consumă produs acasă” campaign in support of women entrepreneurs

Date:

Women entrepreneurs and their contribution to economic development took center stage in Ungheni during the first regional dialogue organized as part of the “Fii pe val. Consumă produs acasă” campaign. Through its involvement, UN Women supports the promotion of women entrepreneurs and highlights their role in the local and national economy.

The event brought together more than 150 entrepreneurs, consumers, development partners, and representatives of local and central public authorities.

“Women’s economic empowerment is one of UN Women’s priority areas, through our support for policies, programmes and initiatives that expand women’s access to economic opportunities, resources and services. In this context, we hope that our involvement in this initiative will support women entrepreneurs and local producers, while also contributing to greater recognition of their role in the development of the local and national economy,” said Svetlana Andrieș, Deputy Representative of UN Women Moldova.

At the same time, seven entrepreneurs from the Ungheni region shared their experiences of building and growing their businesses, addressing topics such as scaling up, adapting to European standards, developing family businesses, and the role of women in entrepreneurship.
