A local mechanism for socio-economic inclusion of survivors of domestic violence was developed through the EVA project – Strengthened gender action in Cahul and Ungheni districts, financed by the European Union. The document includes a set of measures and stages for the socio-economic inclusion of women (survivors of violence) and their support through professional training, employment, launching of income-generating activities or the initiation of entrepreneurial activities. The mechanism was tested in 12 localities in Ungheni and Cahul districts, and more than 250 women benefited from support for education, training and employment, in order to become economically independent.

The closing conference of the Project "Local Partnerships for women’s empowerment in Cahul and Ungheni districts" brought together beneficiaries of the project from the 12 initiative partner localities, representatives of local public administrations from Cahul and Ungheni districts, Local Initiative Groups representatives, active women, as well as development partners.

On Friday, 23 September 2022, UN Women Moldova organised the national conference "Promoting gender equality in the workplace, on the market and in the community". The event was attended by 17 companies that signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) as well as other companies that support women's empowerment in both the workplace and community. It also brought together government institutions, international organisations and business associations that promote women's economic empowerment in Moldova and internationally.

Honouring the occasion of the International Day of Peace, the event was organised by the Parliament and the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM), with the support of UN Women and financial support from Sweden.
