Over the years, women have changed the world and played a considerable role in accelerating techno-scientific progress through innovation and science. Behind many of the inventions that facilitate our lives today are women. For example, modern medicine has seen significant progress after the one-handed manoeuvrable medical syringe was created. Wireless transmissions, bulletproof vests and solar panels are other important things invented by women that make our existence easier.

The commune of Cruzești has become a second home for Ukrainian refugees. More than 100 college students and professors recently took part in UN Women Moldova organised discussions on gender equality and ending violence against women. The talks were part of You know you can , a month-long UN Women in Moldova campaign that that challenged gender stereotypes and encouraged women and girls to assert themselves as leaders and professionals in all fields, and to fight gender bias and choose any career they wished.
