Sergiu Chilat is a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Alecu Russo State University of Bălți. In addition to teaching, Chilat manages the company Power IT and is the co-founder of the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI). His efforts focus on promoting the involvement of girls and women in information technology (IT) and combating stereotypes that girls cannot work in IT as successfully as boys.

A local mechanism for socio-economic inclusion of survivors of domestic violence was developed through the EVA project – Strengthened gender action in Cahul and Ungheni districts, financed by the European Union. The document includes a set of measures and stages for the socio-economic inclusion of women (survivors of violence) and their support through professional training, employment, launching of income-generating activities or the initiation of entrepreneurial activities. The mechanism was tested in 12 localities in Ungheni and Cahul districts, and more than 250 women benefited from support for education, training and employment, in order to become economically independent.

An event dedicated to the Istanbul Convention took place at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Tamara Schiopu, 56, is an environmentalist and an expert in ecological agriculture from Moldova. She is the President of EcoLocal - Association of Organic and Artisanal Producers and Consumers of Moldova. Tamara has always been immersed in nature. Her husband has been an organic farmer for over 40 years. Tamara learned about the benefits of this type of agriculture from him and has adopted an environment and climate-friendly lifestyle.

Svetlana Patras, a 37 years old Moldovan woman, went from football player to FIFA international referee. However, Svetlana says the main achievement in her career is not the number of goals marcked and international matches played but the number of children’s smiles after football events she organises. She has been managing the “Open Fun Football Schools Moldova” international project for 13 years. It is implemented in our country by the “Cross Cultures Project” association (Denmark), with support from Moldovan Football Federation and Sweden.
