The project will promote a gender-sensitive refugee response at the regional and country levels by advancing gender-sensitive programming, financing and coordination within and across UN agencies, regional inter-governmental bodies and refugee-response structures. In Moldova, violence against women is widespread and systemic phenomenon. According to the research undertaken by the National Bureau of Statistics there are more than 63 percent of women and girls aged 15-65 who have experienced at least one form of violence during their lifetime.
