Factsheets - 10 cooperation agreements between UN Women and civil society organizations from Moldova
UN Women has signed 10 Project Cooperation Agreements (PCAs) with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from the Republic of Moldova, which will contribute to the realization of UN Women Moldova Strategic Note 2018-2022.
The Gender Barometer is the first comprehensive study in Moldova that addresses women's and men's involvement in politics and decision-making. The study was aimed to elucidate gender-specific challenges in politics (the general attitude towards the involvement of men and women in politics, in the life of the political parties, their intention to run, the specific challenges of the candidates, both men and women, in the election process, the activity of the local elected politician), as the decision making process (the level of information on the community development process, the local development priorities, the involvement on different stages of the decision making process). The research was carried out by the Partnership for Development Center, under the UN "Women in politics", program. The significant progress obtained in addressing the issue of family violence in the Republic of Moldova is a real fact. Nevertheless, a number of legal, institutional, and policy gaps still persist and need to be tackled. In this context, it is very important to have data and evidence on the prevalence of violence against women, the factors determining this phenomenon, as well as the impact of violence on the health and well-being of women and on the family in general.
