The Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) is one of UN Women’s strategic partners when it comes to mainstreaming gender within the academy curricula at all levels, but also to increasing the body of knowledge on gender as it pertains to public policy and budgetary decision-making.

As a result of several years of joint work, ASEM introduced a compulsory gender-responsive budgeting masters course, the first of its kind in the region. The course manual called Gender Responsive Budgeting, available for civil servants of central and local authorities, consolidates the expertise needed for solid gender-responsive budgeting interventions.

UN Women’s experience in using innovative methods to end violence against women in Moldova was included as a case study at Oxford University. We shared our experience to professionals from all continents, participants of Consulting and Coaching for Change Executive Masters programme. Since 2016, UN Women has been promoting solutions that put survivors of domestic violence at the forefront of prevention by encouraging them to share their experiences with other women suffering from abuse.

We partnered with Inland University in Norway to test virtual reality model for our work on ending violence against women.
